Answer: I have been using this switch on a Baldor 2 HP 220 volt 11½ amp motor for 6 months of regular use with no issues. However, the amperage ratings on Woodstock's web page and catalog are conflicting. It is recommended to contact them to verify if it will handle 3HP and the correct amperage rating. -

Does it switch both of the live wires in a 220V circuit?
Answer: Normally, 240 volt rated switches do operate both live wires. It is expected that this switch does it for safety purposes. However, it has not been tested for this specific feature. -

Can I hit it with my knee to turn it off?
Answer: Yes, if you have it mounted in the right location, it is possible to turn it off by bumping it with your thigh. -
