Designed with a low profile, MD2 form factor, the RES3FV288 can easily fit into any server add-in card slot, including low profile slots in a 2U rack system. If there's no available add-in slot, don't worry! The RES3FV288 can also be mounted to a chassis wall or air-duct. Powered by a high-performance SAS 3.0 capable expander, the RES3FV288 allows you to connect up to 28 inside-the-box SAS or Serial ATA (SATA) devices, along with 8 external ports for a JBOD connection.
Each expander port is capable of performing SAS and SATA transfers at speeds of either 12Gb/s or 6Gb/s, ensuring excellent performance. Not only does the RES3FV288 support management functions such as discovery and enclosure management, but it can also be cascaded to accommodate as many drives as your associated SAS/RAID card allows.
