Fan SHIM for Raspberry Pi
The Pimoroni Fan Shim is a neat low-profile fan for Raspberry Pi devices that is easy to assemble and install. It is a pass-through connector that allows a GPIO ribbon cable to be installed on top of it. It will work with a Raspberry Pi Zero but the GPIO is unpopulated, so one would need to be added. If a Pi 4 HAT blocks airflow to the CPU, the Fan Shim will do little to cool it down. While the item has received positive reviews, some Consumers have had issues with it, the most notable being that its software is incompatible with Pi-Star. The fan shim moves almost no air at all, and the system runs much hotter than it did with the stock aluminum heat sink, according to one customer review. Some users have also complained about the fan not mounting easily, Constantly disconnecting, having a too-bright LED, and making a terrible noise after about a month's use.
