    Respuesta: No, the replacement candle Ceramic filter that I received did not have a wing nut and washer with it. The original is stainless steel. You can find suitable replacement wing nuts and washers in specialist bolt and nut stores.

    Respuesta: Yes, it is the 1040 filter and it ships with the cartridge (candle) filter only. It does not come with gaskets or any other fittings.
  • Pregunta: Is the threaded stem metal or plastic? (The threaded stems on plastic Kayadyn filters break very easily.)

    Respuesta: The threaded stem on the replacement element is metal and very robust. After 15 years of using the Expedition model in very rugged circumstances, there were no problems at all.
