Thames & Kosmos Science Kits & Toys 665036 Editorial Review
The Thames & Kosmos Motors & Generators Science Kit is an excellent way for children to learn about how motors and generators work. With 25 guided STEM experiments and a 48-page color student guide, this kit is perfect for children between grades 3 to 6 and age 8 and above. The kit comes with two gears connected to a generator through a hand crank, and a clear plastic cover over the gears so children can see how they mesh together while spinning the hand crank. The kit is very modular and can work with other Thames & Kosmos sets, allowing children to build more complex structures while learning. The manuals provide mini-science book-like information, benefiting not just the child but the parent too. While some customers express frustration at the kit's limited scope, it is vital to note that the Thames & Kosmos Motors & Generators Science Kit is an introductory product and is not meant for older or experienced children. Still, it remains an excellent way for pre-teens to grasp the concept of energy generation and explore their practical applications. The kits’ aesthetic design is beautiful, and the color blends are the perfect touch. Children who love to build things and have an interest in science will enjoy and appreciate this toy.
