It has a top and side wall opening, which is great for getting pets in and out and allowing pets to pop their heads out. The carrier is easy to carry with the shoulder straps or shorter carrying straps, which fit well over the handle of carry-ons, helping to keep the carrier in place. It is perfect for small pets for short trips such as visits to the vet or air travels. However, it may not be suitable for cats that are not good sports as they may need bigger carriers with more room to move around.
